World TB Day, 2015
On World TB Day, 2015 the GCAT hosted an event led by the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in New Delhi.
During the event, the CTD launched the TB Harega Desh Jeetega campaign nationally. CTD also released the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) annual report for 2015. Shri J.P.Nadda, the honourable Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare also released a special issue of the Global Policy Journal on TB featuring articles by leading administrators, policymakers, technical experts and journalists working in the Indian TB landscape. Additionally, the CTD also released an innovative treatment regimen for TB-HIV co-infections to be implemented at high-burden anti-retroviral therapy (ART) centres.

The cause of TB prevention and control received unprecedented support, bringing together Shri J.P.Nadda, the honourable Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare; Mr. Dalbir Singh, President, GCAT; Mr. Anurag Thakur, Member of Parliament, Bharatiya Janata Party and GCAT Advisory Board Member; Dr. Nata Menabde, World Health Organization (WHO) representative to India. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, who was unable to attend the event, sent a letter expressing his solidarity with all the individuals and organizations working towards the prevention and control of TB. Other dignitaries on the dais included Mr. Bhanu Pratap Sharma, Health Secretary, MoHFW; Dr. Jagdish Prasad, Director General of Health Services and Mr. Anshu Prakash, Additional Secretary, MoHFW .
